Team History
NAZareX: a combination of NAZ, derived from the school Nazareth Acadedmy, ’a.r.e.’ for our mission of ’Acquiring Real Experience,’ and X in appreciation for our sponsor, Xerox.
Established in 2007 as an all female student and mentor team of FIRST Robotics Finger Lakes Region, New York State, the team consists of Nazareth Academy students and adult mentors (teachers of Nazareth Academy and employees of Xerox Corporation). We were the only Rookie team to compete in the Pre-Games in the 2007-2008 season, taking away the Rookie Award at the year RaChaCha Ruckus, and were invited to travel to nationals where we placed third in the Galileo division. Last season, we were honored again to attend nationals in Atlanda, GA, where we grew as we competed against innovative and pioneering teams. We were blessed in meeting many new FIRST students and bonding as a team!
The NAZareX team anxiously awaits each new season, where we will continue to live the FIRST experience, demonstrating quality leadership with a goal to create excitement in young women to drive them to excel in science and technology.
